About the Artist

Anne was born in the scenic township of Atherton, surrounded by the lush rolling Tableland hills, rainforests, mountains, streams and lakes. With such a backdrop, it is not surprising that she developed an appreciation of and attachment for the beauty of nature from an early age. Anne pursued a career in nursing and left the workforce after marriage and children.

In 1999 whilst attending a TAFE drawing course, Anne was introduced to pastels, and armed with enthusiasm, some inherited artistic talent and a passionate determination her artistic journey began. Anne has received many awards, and to further her development has attended workshops with some of Australia's best professional landscape artists. Anne now paints in both pastel and oil from her home studio in Cooroy.

She finds abundant inspiration to paint from her hinterland environment and relishes the beauty of both coastal and country scenery. As a mother of four, Anne knows just how hectic life can be. She seeks to instil into her paintings a sense of escape into nature's timeless tranquillity, inviting the viewer to contemplate the handiwork of the eternal Creator.

In 2006 Anne was commissioned to supply artwork for the new ‘The Plains’ Bethany Christian Aged Care facility at Eight-Mile Plains, Brisbane. For this she designed and painted her range of bible verse text prints and fine art giclée prints.

Anne's bible texts are available through the website gallery.
